the Lord remains constant, always.

He remains constant when I’m distracted.

He remains constant when I fall short.

He remains constant when I’m weary.

He remains constant when I lose sight of who I am.

He remains constant when I’m struggling.

He remains constant when nothing else seems to be.

He remains constant when I run away.

I don’t know why it took so long for me to begin to grasp the phrases I used to think were overused and cliche. The Lord being never failing, abundant in grace, mercy, and always chasing after His One. This season, it’s been clearer than ever that he’s always been chasing after me. Even though I felt like I was  always taking baby steps of obedience, he needed full surrender. South Africa has been so beautiful, and has honestly been the place that I‘ve been stretched the most. Relationships have been rocky, ministry has felt draining, people have gone home. But one thing has remained constant, our God. Since being in Africa, I’ve hardly talked to people back home, but have been more in tune with the voice of the Father than ever before. In the span of one month, he’s spoken to me in the most creative of ways that I would’ve never payed any attention to. He’s given me the opportunity to serve, love and continue to choose him free of boundaries. It’s such an honor to serve the King of Kings and that he’s so intentional in loving, listening, being gentle, patient, and kind.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

**I’m the worst at starting blogs and not finishing, but this one has a cool story so keep reading to see why I had to post! So, I wanted to write this blog about 2 weeks ago but had no idea what I wanted to write about, because I feel like the Lord is teaching me a million things- However, I would say his unwavering (constant) love to me recently, in the midst of all difficulty was one of the biggest. So I started with just the title and the first sentence… then, a few days later, we went to First Light Coffee Bar, and they usually hand out small squares of card stock with an uplifting phrase or a verse with a purchase. This was mine…

Must I say more??

Our God is SO cool and we get to scream shouts of praise for the party that Heaven will be!

All My Love,
Lex
